The Banana Splits were one of a couple fake bands that got popular in the late 60s along with The Archies and Max Frost and the Troopers. They were more well known for their TV show but released one album in 1968. There were enough songs in their discography for a second album, however the last four were from the TV show and were never professionally recorded.

Here's a theoretical third Pink Floyd album of 1969. It basically collects all the outtakes between this one and my last one which is enough to fit on one album.

As mentioned in my last post about The Kinks, they planned to release an album alongside Village Green Preservation Society in 1968 called Four More Respected Gentlemen but chose not to, so the songs would later be released across two compilations, The Kinks Kronikles and The Great Lost Kinks Album. The title of the latter has been described as misleading cause only two songs from Gentlemen made it onto Great Lost. It turns out that most of these tracks actually came from an album they planned to release alongside Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) in 1969 called Where Was Spring?

This was an album that the Small Faces were intending to make after their fourth album Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. However there were a good chunk of tracks that didn't have vocals so a compilation album was released instead called The Autumn Stone, kind of like what happened with The Hollies. One of the instrumental tracks called The Pig Trotter would later be released as a bonus track to the first Humble Pie album as a track called Wrist Job.

If you remember my last post about The Zombies, I talked about their lesser known collection of singles between their only two albums but they had an unreleased album recorded after their last one. It was officially released in 2000 but all the tracks were originally featured on a box set called Zombie Heaven from 1997. I took out one track which was an instrumental called Conversation Off Floral Street so I replaced it with a track I didn't include before.

Timebox were a band that existed for a brief time in the late '60s that put out a couple singles but not an album. Though they recorded an album that for whatever reason never came out. I found out about them cause two of its members would later go on to join The Rutles so some of their songs would be used in their alternate universe discography. Apparently the album was supposed to be released in 2018 with this track listing but it never came out. The person who made the Rutles albums also included two more tracks to this album to make it about 40 minutes. But as shown in their compilation albums, they actually recorded enough material to release two albums.

This is mostly just The Monkees Present but with the Davy songs from Instant Replay. If we cut out the tracks that were already featured on previous Monkees albums, that leaves us 18 left to choose from. I tried to keep it at 4 tracks per Monkee so I just got rid of 2 tracks from each.

After Peter Tork left the band in 1968, the Monkees' plan for their next album was to record new songs that would be mixed in with older songs. They released three albums in two years which had eight songs from 1966 to 1967 and the rest were from 1968 to 1970. Michael Nesmith later left the band in 1970. I listened to the unreleased songs from 1969 but there weren't enough to make a full album. I was thinking of spreading them across the next three albums but I found a couple older songs and thought I had enough to make a new album. This doesn't fix the problem of the next three albums not having enough songs but you could potentially mix the two albums from 1969 together along with some other unreleased songs.

This is a single album version of the double album Out Here by Love. In 1967, Love released the album Forever Changes which would be voted one of the best albums of the 60s. But by 1968, leader Arthur Lee would be the only remaining member and was told by his label that he had to release one more album. He quickly formed a quartet and would eventually record 27 songs. He released ten of them as the album Four Sail and released the other 17 as a double album called Out Here under a different label, both coming out in 1969. 

The double album contained two tracks that were over 10 minutes long and a couple tracks that were less than 2 minutes long. But most of the average length tracks were on sides A and D. I took out the track Instra-Mental from side D and replaced it with a song called I Still Wonder from side C. Their next album False Start included a live version of a song called Stand Out from side B, so I figured they would use the studio version in this universe. You could pair it with Four Sail.

This is an all studio version of Goodbye, the last album by Cream. They had planned on releasing it as a studio / live double album like their last album Wheels of Fire, but they released it as a single album instead. Some blogs I've seen expand it to a double album but I'm keeping it as a single album. Each of the three studio songs were written by each of the three members, an idea that would be better executed later in the year by Pink Floyd with their album Ummagumma. 

For this we're gonna use tracks from the only album by the supergroup Blind Faith which feature two of the members as well as Jack Bruce's first album Songs for a Tailor. It was his first to be released but his second to be recorded, the first one being an instrumental jazz album. It was recorded during Bruce's time with the band but some of the songs on his first album would be demoed for the Cream album Disraeli Gears. For this I included the solo versions but also the song Hey Now Princess from around this time from the Those Were the Days compilation. 

Also included is the song Lawdy Mama, the only studio song from the band's first live album Live Cream, though I think the version from Those Were the Days would've made for a better album closer than Mother's Lament. The Blind Faith album was their sole release as a supergroup which included 2 members from Cream as well as Steve Winwood from Traffic. The duo only wrote a duo of songs but one of them is a long jam which I'm opting to exclude. The other one was written by Eric Clapton but was sung by Steve. Meanwhile Eric sang on Well All Right.

This is my proposed single LP version of Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart. I also tried making the album less weird by getting rid of the studio banter between the songs. To condense it down to a single LP, I had to get rid of most of the shorter tracks which was disappointing cause I liked most of them. This led to Dachau Blues being the opener which might not have gone well.
