In between the Small Faces' first two albums which are both self-titled, the band changed labels from Decca to Immediate but they released a compilation in between called From the Beginning. It was intended to be a collection of outtakes with some being previously unreleased, however two of the tracks came from the first album and two more tracks would later get released on the second album. In fact, on the American version of the second album called There Are But Four Small Faces, they included the two tracks from From the Beginning but cut out a whole side's worth of material from the second album. So the first side makes up all the tracks from From the Beginning that I could include and the second side contains most of the tracks from the second album not featured on the American version.

One of the instrumental tracks called The Pig Trotter would later be released as a bonus track to the first Humble Pie album as a track called Wrist Job.
