Tool - Opiate (2000)

1. Sweat
2. Hush
3. Part of Me
4. Cold and Ugly
5. Jerk-Off
6. Opiate
7. Maynard's Dick
8. The Gaping Lotus Experience
9. No Quarter (Led Zeppelin Cover)

Tool are a well-known band that has only released 5 albums but not a lot of material in between. In fact the only non-album tracks that I was able to find was their Opiate EP from 1992 and two tracks from their Salival album from 2000 which were outtakes from their Aenima album from 1996. The versions of Cold and Ugly and Jerk-Off on the EP were live so I used studio versions of them. At 40 minutes long it would be their shortest album.

Pavement - Farewell Horizontal (2000)

1. Cataracts
2. Westie Can Drum
3. Winner of the
4. Birds in the Majic Industry
5. Harness Your Hopes
6. Roll With the Wind
7. Slowly Typed
8. No Tan Lines
9. Nigel
10. The Porpoise and the Hand Grenade
11. Rooftop Gambler
12. Your Time to Change
13. Stub Your Toe

This is an album that combines B-sides and bonus tracks from Pavement's last two albums Brighten the Corners and Terror Twilight. It should be noted that this album contains the track Harness Your Hopes, a track recorded during the Brighten the Corners sessions but was made a Terror Twilight bonus track which then became their most popular song to date.

Guided by Voices - Daredevil Stamp Collector (2000)

1. Catfood on the Earwig
2. Whiskey Ships
3. Girl From the Sun
4. Pick Seeds From My Skull
5. Powerblessings
6. The Kissing Life
7. James Riot
8. Shrine to the Dynamic Years
9. Trashed Aircraft
10. Underground Initiations
11. Interest Position
12. Fly Into Ashes
13. A Crick Uphill
14. Idiot Princess
15. Avalanche Aminos
16. Perfect This Time
17. Sucker of Pistol City
18. Wrinkled Ghost
19. Now I'm Crying
20. Real

Guided by Voices' first hi-fi sounding album was Mag Earwig! in 1997. But I think their next album Do the Collapse is a bit better remembered because it was produced by Ric Ocasek who made them throw away numerous songs in order to record new ones in a similar move he would do with Weezer when producing their Green Album two years later. Because of that there were enough songs to make a second album of outtakes.

Weezer - The Purple Album (2000)

1. Pleased to Meet You
2. It's a Game
3. Coal Miner
4. Gimme Something
5. Mr. Docksider
6. Sweet Talk
7, Possessed, Obsessed
8. I Can't Live
9. You're Fun to Play With
10. Let's Get Mellow

In looking for Green Album demos to combine with whatever Black Room demos I had left to make a fourth entry to this series, I actually had enough material for three more albums, so here's at least one of them. These are technically Green Album demos and not Black Room demos. The cover was based on a rejected design for the Green Album. There was also consideration into releasing a Purple Album in 2012, but it never happened.

Little Tin Frog - Farewell America (2000)

1. Cheshire Cat Fading
2. Construction Paper Head
3. Drowning in Ecstasy
4. Clear as Hell
5. Shadow Queen
6. Welcome to Nowhere
7. Unusual Smash Hit
8. Me, Like That
9. F.D.R. (Needs a Haircut)
10. Paper Shoes
11. Hold to Me
12. World's a Round
13. Aural Sex

Little Tin Frog was a little known band that released one album and 2 EPs in the late 90s. Their drummer Logan Whitehurst would go on to drum in another band called The Velvet Teen and release solo music as Logan Whitehurst and the Junior Science Club. When Little Tin Frog broke up in 2000, they went on a farewell tour and put out this 3 disc anthology with 2 discs of studio tracks and one disc of live tracks. I tried to see if I could make a second album out of tracks from their demo tapes, though I would describe the last three tracks as acoustic demos.

Weezer - The Black Room (2000)

1. I Want You
2. Doorbell
3. Sunshine
4. Somebody Tell Me Why
5. Greyhound
6. The Black Rider
7. Socialite
8. Girl's Soccer
9. Phlegm Man
10. Average Town

These songs were recorded in 1998 and 1999 when Rivers Cuomo went through a period of introversion where he locked himself in his bedroom with his guitars and recording equipment, closed his windows, disconnected his phone, and painted the walls black. It was also around this time that he wrote the Encyclopedia of Pop, where he analyzed songs by Nirvana, Green Day, and Oasis to become the ultimate songwriter.

21. Witch Doctor* (1998)
22. The Words Get Stuck in My Throat (2000)
23. Go Monkey Go* (2000)

My take on a compilation album that came out alongside another compilation album in 2000 called Recombo DNA. The tracks in asterisks were tracks I added to the compilation. The album was one I put together a couple years ago but I recently added the last track after I remembered it existed. In fact the album version was a minute longer than the music video version I remembered hearing as a kid.
