4. When You're Gone
5. No Spare Parts

The Rolling Stones recorded 50 songs for their album Some Girls but the released version only had 10 tracks. Some of the tracks would later be included on other albums such as Tattoo You, but when it was reissued it included a second disc of outtakes from the album.

Kiss - Snowblind (1979)

Side A:
1. All American Man - Paul Stanley
2. Rockin' in the U.S.A. - Gene Simmons
3. Larger Than Life - Gene Simmons
4. Rocket Ride - Ace Frehley
5. Any Way You Want It - Paul Stanley

Side B:
6. Snowblind - Ace Frehley
7. Move On - Paul Stanley
8. Tunnel of Love - Gene Simmons
9. Ozone - Ace Frehley

In 1978, Kiss made rock history when every band member released their own solo album on the same day. A best of album was put out at the time, but after listening to the solo albums, I decided I liked Paul's and Ace's albums the most and Gene's and Peter's albums the least. So I made a version of it about two years ago. In that time though I since found out that the fourth side of their second live album Alive II included five tracks that were technically performed live without an audience. And I thought I could make a second side of other songs I didn't include. The song Any Way You Want It is technically by The Dave Clark Five as the Journey song came out in 1980.

Wings - Back to the Egg (1979)

Side A:
1. We're Open Tonight
2. Getting Closer
3. Spin It On
4. Again and Again and Again
5. Old Siam, Sir
6. Arrow Through Me
7. To You

Side B:
8. After the Ball
9. Love Awake
10. So Glad to See You Here
11. Goodnight Tonight
12. Daytime Nighttime Suffering
13. Weep for Love

When I was working on my London Town album, I listened to that album as well as this one. I thought that this one had some weak tracks but I ended up not using it. Despite that I always felt like it could be improved. So I listened to it again and I thought it was weak in the second half. Two of the songs were medleys but I cut both in half and kept part of them. I also took out 5 tracks and replaced them with 3 new ones like both sides of a non-album single.

Sex Pistols - The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle (1979)

Side A:
1. Belsen Was a Gas
2. I Wanna Be Me
3. Did You No Wrong
4. Satellite
5. Don't Give Me No Lip
6. (I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone

Side B:
7. Substitute
8. Lonely Boy
9. Silly Thing
10. Black Leather
11. No Fun

The Sex Pistols infamously only released one album before breaking up. In a quest for more material, producer Dave Goodman found an old rehearsal tape and based a movie around their story. Tracks from the tape were featured on the soundtrack from the movie. It's not great but it might be the closest to an official second Sex Pistols album. The first track "Belsen Was a Gas" is included as an edited live performance. There exist two studio versions: one with Johnny on vocals which has a ghostly effect on his voice, and one with train robber Ronnie Biggs on vocals (???). The most famous version though is the live performance since Johnny sings.

In one part of the tape they do a cover of "Johnny B. Goode" for some reason, but then Johnny says he doesn't know the words and wants to play "Roadrunner" instead. So they play that song but he still doesn't remember the words! The album consists of B-sides from singles and cover songs from the tape that were staples at early shows. After Johnny left the group in 1978, the band recorded some tracks without him for the soundtrack, including some with other members.

4. One Way Street
5. Because the Night
6. Wrong Side of the Street

Side B:
7. The Brokenhearted
8. Rendezvous
9. Ain't Good Enough for You
10. Fire
11. Spanish Eyes
12. It's a Shame

Side C:
13. Come On (Let's Go Tonight)
14. Talk to Me
15. The Little Things (My Baby Does)
16. Breakaway
17. City of Night
18. The Way

Side D:
19. Give the Girl a Kiss
20. Iceman
21. Hearts of Stone
22. Don't Look Back
23. Save My Love
24. The Promise

This is a double album of outtakes from the Bruce Springsteen album Darkness on the Edge of Town. The first three sides come from the Promise compilation album and the fourth side comes from the first disc of the Tracks box set. The version of The Promise included is the one from the Promise album instead of the version re-recorded for 18 Tracks. Also I felt like the material was best represented as a double album, although the song Save My Love was technically recorded for the Promise album.

The Beatles - London Town (1979)

Side A:
1. London Town
2. Love Comes to Everyone
3. Hard Times
4. Café on the Left Bank
5. Here Comes the Moon

Side B:
6. Who Needs a Heart?
7. Girlfriend
8. Blow Away
9. Monkey See, Monkey Do
10. Don't Let It Bring You Down

This was my attempt at constructing an album that The Beatles might've put out in 1979. I already know about the gap in John's discography from 1975 to 1980 but what I didn't know was that George also had a gap in his discography from 1976 to 1979. When he released his self-titled album in 1979, some of the songs were recorded almost a year ago. The album could've been released in December 1978 if not for some artwork issues. Paul and Ringo both released two albums around this time but the albums would need to match the sound of George's album if we're using it as a centerpiece, so I'm also using Paul's London Town and Ringo's Bad Boy.

When The Beatles released Between the Lines in 1976, John contributed one song but had dropped out as a member making him the first to quit, so the band would be forced to go on as a trio. They had considered becoming a studio only band like they did 10 years ago, but they were forced to go on a hiatus only to make a short-lived comeback a few years later. John doesn't make an appearance on the album but rumor is he may be able to rejoin the band in the next year. I cut a little out of the intro to Here Comes the Moon.
