Summercamp was another one of those bands that only released one album. It turns out they recorded a second album but it went unreleased and also never had a name or artwork for it. The Tonight! EP was their final release but was only released in Japan. This reminds me a lot of the story of Radish, and when I looked up the album on YouTube it wasn't there, so I uploaded it!

The Talking Heads didn't release an album this year, but they all released solo albums which could be combined to make an album. David Byrne released The Catherine Wheel soundtrack although he only sings on a couple of the tracks. Jerry Harrison also released an album called The Red and the Black and Tina Weymouth started a side project called Tom Tom Club with TH drummer Chris Frantz and released their first album that year. So I thought if I didn't have a lot of David material to include I could make it a more collaborative album, which would be unusual for a TH album. Although these songs never made it onto a TH album, the band did perform them live and some songs made it onto Stop Making Sense.

When Metallica released their collaboration record with Lou Reed in 2011, it was called even worse than St. Anger, and indeed one of the worst albums of all time. But it would also turn out to be Lou's last album before his death in 2013. It spans across two discs and is longer than the length of a single disc. So I thought how could we improve it? Three of the album's ten tracks are longer than 10 minutes, and later that year they released an EP of outtakes from Death Magnetic. So I thought I could take out the three tracks longer than 10 minutes and replace them with the four tracks from the EP and now it's short enough to fit on a CD!

Sonic Youth broke up in 2011 but their last album was released in 2009. When they broke up they had been around for 40 years and were one of the longest running bands in alternative. And yet what if they didn't break up and made one more album? In 2013 Thurston and his band Chelsea Light Moving released their only album. But also this year Kim released the album Coming Apart with her band Body/Head and Lee released an album called Last Night on Earth as Lee Ranaldo and the Dust which features SY drummer Steve Shelley. Lee was known for having the fewest songs on their albums but since Kim's album is experimental he gets a step up.

This compilation album mostly features outtakes from the Adore and Machina albums. It was originally included with copies of their greatest hits album Rotten Apples but in my universe it's included with copies of my version of the Machina albums. It includes a couple songs that were originally released on The Aeroplane Flies High so I took out the songs I already used. I also took out all the solo acoustic tracks. The album is more electronic than prior ones though I still like it.

The compilation album Pisces Iscariot didn't yield any singles but it scored one big hit with the cover of Landslide by Fleetwood Mac which was originally included on the Disarm single. It was the only track from the album to be included on the Rotten Apples greatest hits album. Also there were a couple acoustic songs that I excluded from the album. So I thought I'd make Landslide a single and since their EPs are so long I can include all the acoustic bonus tracks. After that I found out that Rocket was a promotional single, and I had some heavy bonus tracks.

Admittedly I had a lot of fun going through Smashing Pumpkins' discography for this month. I wanted to see what other songs they had buried in the cracks, and it turned out to be a lot! This can be seen as a chronological history of the band up to Siamese Dream, but most of these tracks can be found on reissues of their first two albums and Pisces Iscariot.

Hey did know that Billy Corgan once said that he almost had enough material to make Siamese Dream a double album? That's apparently true since in between Siamese Dream and MCIS they released a compilation album called Pisces Iscariot. Though it didn't include all of their early work and included a few covers instead.

This is a fictitious second album that would be included with copies of my version of The Aeroplane Flies High. It includes most of the instrumentals from the Pastichio Medley that would be later released on reissues of TAFH and MCIS. Speed is the only song from the medley to have vocals though the last song technically has a bit of vocals from James Iha.

The Aeroplane Flies High was a five disc box set released by the Smashing Pumpkins after the release of the two disc album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. This included the Zero EP which included the Pastichio Medley which was a medley of 73 songs that the band recorded during this time in various states of availability. So the album contained 28 songs, followed by a further 19 songs from the box set not including covers or duplicates, and of the 73 songs from the medley 23 were found. That gives us a total of 70 songs which is more than the 57 songs that were recorded for the album. Nevertheless it means we have a lot of material to go through. The first half of the album is all electric and mostly includes the 1979 and Zero EPs. The second half of the album is all acoustic and mostly includes the Tonight, Tonight & Thirty-Three EPs.

The Smashing Pumpkins' third album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was a double album that came out to critical acclaim and generated many songs and hits for the band. I rearranged it so all the heavy songs are on the first disc and all the mellow songs are on the second disc. I also took out the instrumental intro track.
